" We are very sad to report the loss of our gorgeous mare Nofretete. "Kimba" became ill just before our planned trip to Germany for training in August and foundered severely. The team at Anglesea Lodge Equine Hospital did everything humanly possible for her and she fought every inch of the way, but despite her toughness and the best efforts of everyone she could not be saved and we made the difficult decision to put her down on 24th September. The highs and lows of horses are always with us. This time last year we were celebrating her double win at the National Championships and 2009 saw her inclusion on the High Performance Squad with her Grand Prix debut just around the corner. But as one door slams closed in our faces another opens and Romeo (Urbanus) stepped into Kimba's shoes at this year's Nationals, announcing his arrival at the higher levels in timely fashion by defending her title of National Advanced Champion."

They also qualified for the Advanced championship, scoring 65%. This was the debut for Urbanus at this level who, although still a little inexperienced, showed very impressive work, earning 9's for his extended trot and canter from List 1 International judge, Gisela Holstein. |
